Vail Golf Club recognized for environmental excellence

Facility keeps its Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary status.

The Vail Golf Club has retained its designation as a “Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary” through the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program for Golf Courses.

Justin Gompf, Assistant Vail Golf Club superintendent, led the effort to maintain the sanctuary status on the course. The Vail Golf Club has maintained the designation for the past 12 years and is one of only 757 courses in the world to receive the honor. “

“We are honored to be one of a few golf courses in the world to be certified by Audubon International,” said Gompf. “We work on a daily basis to help improve our environment on the course and surrounding it.”
