Hunting Creek CC completes renovation

Hunting Creek Country Club here recently completed a major renovation and restoration of its 18-hole championship golf course. The course will be re-opened for play in late May or early June, weather dependent.  The $2-million project included improvements designed by Kentucky golf course architect Spencer Holt and work successfully completed within budget by Georgia based Course Crafters. The course gained length and now plays at 7,123 yards from the championship tees.

All sand bunkers and 16 greens were reconstructed to USGA specifications.  Two greens had been so reconstructed earlier and just re-grassed. All tee boxes were restored and laser leveled. The tee boxes and greens are using the newest hybrid T1 creeping bent grass. All fairways were converted to Zoysia grass in previous years. All cart paths have been resurfaced and widened by Louisville Paving. The membership of this private club overwhelming approved and funded the project in conjunction with Louisville’s Republic Bank.
