The Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA) is taking online submissions at www.gcsaa.org/dogcalendar for the 2011 Dog Days of Golf Calendar – sponsored by LebanonTurf in cooperation with GCSAA.
High-resolution photos of golf course mutts will be accepted through Aug. 2 and LebanonTurf will select 14 for a 2011 calendar that will accompany the November issue of Golf Course Management, GCSAA's official publication.
"The Dog Days of Golf Calendar is a fun way to recognize some of the most valuable members of golf course management teams," GCSAA CEO Mark Woodward, CGCS, said. "Many of our members work outdoors in open spaces and have a canine companion ride along with them throughout the day."
LebanonTurf will hold voting for its Dog of the Year contest from its booth at the 2011 Golf Industry Show, Feb. 9-10 in Orlando. The winner will be announced in the April issue of GCM. In recognition of the honor, LebanonTurf will donate $3,000 to the winner's GCSAA affiliate chapter and $500 to the pooch's owner.
"GCSAA is a valuable partner and its members have always been loyal customers," Bernie Bross, LebanonTurf senior marketing manager, said. "By showcasing a few golf course dogs, the calendar allows us to show our appreciation to the many hardworking superintendents that support LebanonTurf. And the Dog of the Year contest has proven to be a successful way to support a local GCSAA chapter and drive booth business at the Golf Industry Show."
