Sequoia Golf Group announced that it has been selected to manage a portfolio of four golf clubs owned by The Royal Golf Group in the Chicago area, including The Royal Fox Country Club, The Royal Hawk Country Club, The Grove Country Club and Klein Creek Golf Club. This new partnership is the latest of several recent management deals by Sequoia Golf and further positions the company as a national leader in golf course management.
Through the partnership, Sequoia will use its extensive golf management experience and buying power to build upon The Royal Golf Group’s current success and leverage its existing infrastructure for future expansion. Sequoia will develop a proactive long-term agronomic plan that will improve course conditions. With Sequoia, Royal Golf Group members will have the added value of access to more than 450 clubs across North America through the PlayAway program, a benefit that is unmatched in the Chicago metropolitan area.
“We look forward to working closely with Sequoia to further develop our network of courses,” said John Weiss, owner of the Royal Golf Group. “After two years of research we chose Sequoia based on our shared philosophy on how to manage private clubs, their strong national presence and their dynamic management experience. We are proud to be affiliated with one of the highest caliber, most respected companies in the golf industry today, and together Sequoia and Royal Golf Group are committed to growing the game of golf.”
Built in 1989, The Royal Fox Country Club in St. Charles, Ill., features a challenging 6,816-yard par 71 golf course and a newly remodeled clubhouse. In addition, the Richard Nugent designed course was host to seven Illinois PGA Open Championships.
The Royal Hawk Country Club, also located in St. Charles, is built on 180 acres and offers a par 72 championship course. The Royal Hawk’s recently constructed clubhouse was modeled after the historic presidential estate, Mount Vernon, and includes panoramic views of the Fox River Valley.
The Grove Country Club in Long Grove, Ill., first opened its doors to members in 1964 and has a strong tradition of golfing excellence. In addition to the challenging layout with thousands of mature trees, The Grove members also benefit from exclusive dining, swimming and tennis accommodations.
Located in Winfield, Ill., Klein Creek Golf Club is a unique 18-hole championship-level course designed to challenge even the most accomplished player. Designed by course architect Dick Nugent, Klein Creek features 6,700 yards of rolling greens available to the public.
“We are particularly excited about joining forces with The Royal Golf Group to support their clubs and work together to grow the game of golf in the Chicago area,” stated Joe Guerra, president and CEO of Sequoia Golf. “We see this partnership as an opportunity to extend the Sequoia network of membership benefits to a whole new market of golf enthusiasts. We look forward to working with The Royal Clubs to develop their courses into premiere golfing destinations.”
