The Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program for Golf Courses recently recognized Kennett Square Golf and Country Club as a "Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary.”
The club’s golf course superintendent, Paul Stead, led the 4-year effort to obtain sanctuary status on this course. Audubon International has recognized Stead for his exemplary environmental stewardship. Kennett Square Golf and Country Club is the 23rd course in Pennsylvania and the 741st in the world to receive the honor.
Stead said, “It’s been a long road and a lot of paperwork, but we are really proud of our achievement. This is important for both the golf course and the Kennett Square community.”
