Followers of social media in the golf/turf business know that William Brown, CGCS, has always been a leader in the field when he wasn’t busy growing grass. Now, he'll be putting his considerable skills in that arena to work full time as CEO of Turf Republic. Brown made the announcement this morning via (surprise!) social media postings from the Turf Republic site. Read his announcement by clicking here.
We're also pleased to announce that Brown, who was selected as the recipient of the 2013 Kaminski Award for Leadership in Social Media in this year's GCI awards, will be bringing his talents as a writer and analyst to the pages of Golf Course Industry. Brown joins Bruce Williams, Dr. Kaminski, Tim Moraghan, Jeff Brauer, Dennis Lyon, Henry DeLozier, Terry Buchen, Monroe Miller and Brian Vinchesi on GCI's team of contributors and columnists.
"We're thrilled to give Bill an independent forum for his practical perspectives on how superintendents can make social media work in the real world," said Pat Jones. "He asked me what he should write about and I told him, 'Whatever you damn well please.' We can’t wait to get started working with him!"
Look for Brown's column, Notes from the Republic, in an upcoming issue.
