GCBAA upgrades four builder members

Golf course builders group also reissues certifications.

Continuing its efforts to professionalize the industry, the Golf Course Builders Association of America (GCBAA) is pleased to announce the upgrading of four of its builder members.

D.H.R. Construction Inc. and Desert Reflections have achieved Builder status, while Environmental Solutions and Mike Roach Inc. reached Irrigation Contractor membership.

“The GCBAA and its builder members including these impressive four companies continue to set the standard for golf course construction, both at home in the United States and abroad,” said Justin Apel, GCBAA executive director.

The GCBAA has different levels of membership starting with Builder & Irrigation Contractor Applicants, followed by Associate Builders or Associate Irrigation Contractor, Builder, Renovation Members or Irrigation Contractor and Certified Builders. Each level has a unique set of requirements and qualifications designed to identify and recognize members who continue to strive to improve their professional standards and customer satisfaction.

In addition to the GCBAA’s staple membership categories, its recently-added Renovation Builder and Irrigation Contractor member categories enable membership equivalent to the Builder level to more clearly define those areas of business.

Here’s a quick look at each of the four members receiving upgrades:
•Based in Richland, S.C., Mike Roach Inc. has worked alongside some of the most well-known golf course architects in the nation, including Jack Nicklaus, Greg Norman, Pete and P.B. Dye, Raymond Floyd, Arnold Palmer and Tom Fazio.

  • Environmental Solutions, of Yarmouth, Maine, works on all aspects of golf course construction, but specializes in irrigation system design, service and construction.
  • D.H.R. Construction Inc., based in American Canyon, Calif., has been serving the golf industry for more than 20 years. The company works with a wide-range of clients and focuses on customizable solutions to suit individual priorities.
