Improved formulation now available for Arena 0.25 G insecticide

Valent Professional Products is offering turf and landscape professionals an improved formulation for its Arena® 0.25 G Insecticide.

The new formulation of Arena 0.25 G, incorporating the dust-free Biodac® granular carrier from Kadant Grantek Inc., is a significant improvement over the clay-based carriers used for many granular products. Arena 0.25 G is now drier and less dusty, facilitates superior spreading and collects less moisture than its previous incarnation, resulting in better pest control.

Turf and ornamental landscape professionals can use Arena 0.25 G for effective and long-lasting control of a number of pests, including pyrethroid-resistant chinch bug, which has become a major problem in Florida and Texas. Arena 0.25 G also provides excellent control of other landscape pests such as white grubs in turf and whitefly on ficus.

Applying Arena 0.25 G is now easier than ever, according to Todd Mayhew, regional field development manager for Valent.

“With the new carrier, Arena 0.25 G has virtually no dust, and granules remain intact during application. That means uniform distribution of granules and, therefore, better pest control,” Mayhew said. “Arena granules spread easily and do not plug up the spreader. It’s just a very clean formulation that applicators really like.”
