Two-time Indiana Golf Association’s PGA Player of the Year Brett Melton rarely has too much trouble getting a tee time. And that should get even easier at the Country Club of Old Vincennes — as he is now one of the new owners.
CCOV, formally known as the Vincennes Elks Golf Course, is in the final stages of being purchased by a partnership of Melton, his brother Mark of Austin, Texas, and his father Ed, of rural Daviess County (The LLC will be known as Raglesville Lake Golf).
Melton hopes the deal will be completed in just over a week so the course will be ready for the start of the upcoming season.
Melton said the name change ties into the history of Vincennes.
“There is so much history in Vincennes and at the golf course, so we just hoped to tie it together.”
