Toro Golf Irrigation released of the Precision Series Rotating Nozzles and Precision Series Spray Nozzles to cover all golf applications from 5 to 24 feet and help superintendents achieve the most efficient and precise irrigation possible.
When installed with Toro’s 590GF Series golf sprinklers, these nozzles provide matched precipitation rates and low application rates that make them perfect for bunkers, surrounds, tee tops, around the clubhouse and all short to medium radius golf applications. Available with male and female threads, they can also be installed onto nearly all other spray head bodies making them perfect for retrofitting all existing systems. All nozzles are color coded for easy identification.
The Toro Precision Series Rotating Nozzles with Step-Up Technology are designed to provide efficient watering of medium range radius areas from 14 feet to 26 feet. Providing a matched precipitation rate of one-half inch per hour and higher distribution uniformity, these nozzles can reduce ywater usage while improving turf conditions.
Precision Rotating Nozzles efficiently deliver water to the turf through a series of rotating streams powered by Toro gear-drive technology that has set the standard in golf irrigation for decades. Each of the 15 unique rotating streams deliver larger droplets at lower trajectories for improved wind resistance and are designed with Step-Up technology to deliver a precise pattern of water to a specific portion of the irrigated area. Toro’s gear-drive technology provides consistent rotation speeds over a wide pressure range and develops 10 times the torque of traditional rotating nozzles to ensure rotation even in high sand applications like around bunkers and after topdressing. Two arc configurations are available; an adjustable part circle model that can be adjusted from 45 to 270 degrees and a 360 degree full circle model to fill all your coverage needs. Each nozzle includes a radius reduction feature that allows the distance of throw to be reduced up to 25 percent while maintaining matched precipitation rates.
Selected as the Irrigation Association’s 2008 Innovative Product award winner, the Precision Series Spray Nozzles represent the most significant breakthrough in spray nozzle technology in over 60 years. Toro Precision Series Spray Nozzles with exclusive and patented H20 Chip Technology are designed to provide efficient watering for smaller radius areas from 5 feet to 15 feet. They deliver a significantly lower precipitation rate of one inch per hour to conserve water with better edge definition and larger droplet sizes for improved wind resistance – all while effectively optimizing the health of turf and landscapes. Toro H20 Chip Technology achieves distances of throw equivalent to those of conventional spray nozzles. And with the industry’s highest distribution uniformity and lowest scheduling coefficient values for spray nozzles, Precision Series nozzles deliver one-third less water to provide equal or better irrigation efficiency and turf quality than traditional sprays. Each nozzle is powered by one or more patented “chips” with passages designed to create hyper-streams of water oscillating back and forth over the coverage area at 200 cycles per second – with no moving parts. The oscillation is not visible to the naked eye but the results are, including superior edge definition, lower water usage and healthy, attractive turf. The Toro Precision Spray family includes 5 different radius ranges; 5’, 8’, 10’ 12’ and 15’ each having 9 arc patterns, 60º, 90º, 120º, 150º, 180º, 210º, 240º, 270º and 360º to cover every distance and area need. Each nozzle includes a radius reduction feature that allows the distance of throw to be reduced up to 25% while maintaining matched precipitation rates.
“Superintendents using the Precision Series Spray Nozzles will see that flows are reduced, water is applied more efficiently and the turf conditions are outstanding,” said Jim Wright, product manager for Toro Golf Irrigation. “The lower precipitation rate, along with the nozzles’ ability to function reliably under high operating pressure, provides a precise, efficient and uniform distribution wherever they are used on the golf course."
