The Northern California Chapter of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America has elected Jim Sherman, vice president of Turf and Industrial Equipment Co. in Santa Clara, Calif., as an affiliate director.
"It is really an honor to have Jim's hard work and expertise acknowledged by his peers in the GCSAA." says John Matheny, Turf and Industrial Equipment's president.
"I want to give back to the association and the superintendents that have done so much for me during my career." Sherman says. " I have developed significant friendships over the years and want to bring my expertise and experience to wherever I can best serve the golf industry."
Sherman has worked at the company since 1973, starting part-time in the engine rebuild department, then the parts department, where he went on to become Parts Department Manager in 1988.
In 1990 Jim began his sales career and became one of the owners of the company along with his father. Jim and his dad sold the company in 2007 to new ownership, and he now serves as the company's vice president.
In business since 1968, Turf and Industrial Equipment Company is an authorized dealer for Club Car, John Deere, Turfco, Redexim Charterhouse / Verti-Drain, STIHL, LandPride and Gearmore.
