As you may know, GCI will be hosting the TweetUp at this year’s GIS and presenting our first-ever Super Social Media Awards. GCI encourages you to nominate superintendents who you think are deserving of recognition in the following categories:
- Outstanding Social Media Leadership (one “person of the year” award)
- Best Blogs (multiple awards)
- Best Twitter Feeds (multiple awards)
- Best Video or Multimedia (multiple awards)
Our goal is to recognize and promote the effective use of social media tools by superintendents as a way to communicate with customers, employers and colleagues. More information about the awards and the categories can be found HERE.
Nominations do not need to be lengthy or formal for this new awards program. Just send us a little background and the appropriate links and we’ll put your favorites into consideration with the two-dozen or so nominations we’ve already received. They can be customers of your company who you think are doing an excellent job or simply folks you follow who deserve recognition for their efforts. Feel free to nominate as many deserving superintendents as you see fit. In future years, we hope to expand the awards to include organizations, academics and others but, for the time being, we are limiting nominations to individual superintendents.
