Turf pros and social media award-winners discuss its use at Phoenix/UPI roundtable.

Three social media heavyweights talked about its impact on the turf industry at Phoenix/UPI’s Roundtable and Reception Tuesday night before the start of the Golf Industry Show. The discussion featured Chris Tritabaugh, Darren Davis and John Kaminski. All three have been featured in GCI’s social media awards.

The three panel  members agreed that social media didn’t seem as important to them at the beginning, but as time went on, all three agreed that every social media platform grew and became more and more relevant.

Davis stressed at how important each platform is, mostly because ev eryone has a different favorite social media platform, so in order to reach everyone, it’s important to cover all platforms.

 “I think you have to dabble in it,” said Kaminski, “because I like Twitter, someone else likes Facebook, someone likes Instagram. You’re promoting your product, so you have to promote it everywhere.”

Tritabaugh focused on Twitter, but “I use a lot of them and for different reasons. I try to cross promote because people use different platforms, so it’s important to use them all.”
