The Golf Course Builders Association of America (GCBAA) continues to expand its membership globally with the addition of its 33rd "Certified Builder" member, Total Golf Construction. Members who have reached Certified Builder status have been identified through a series of rigorous exams and criteria as knowledgeable and experienced in golf course construction.
Founded in the Middle East in 1986, Total Golf Construction was formed to capitalize on the emergence of the game of golf in that region. It successfully built the first three, all-grass golf courses in Dubai. One of these courses, the Emirates Golf Club, annually hosts the Dubai Desert Classic on the PGA European Tour.
The company started its United States-based operations in 1992 and has worked in the Southeastern United States on new course constructions and renovations. Total Golf Construction continues to build and renovate courses in various parts of the globe, including Nigeria, the Bahamas, Puerto Rico, Egypt and the Caribbean. "Total Golf Construction has proven its services and expertise on a global scale and we're excited to work with this internationally known builder."
