GCBAA upgrades three members

Those receiving a boost in membership status include Benson Construction, Lepanto Golf Construction and United GLI.

The Golf Course Builders Association of America (GCBAA) upgraded the status of three of its members: Benson Construction Co., Lepanto Golf Construction and United GLI.

The GCBAA has different levels of membership beginning with Builder Applicants, followed by Associate Builders, Builder Members and, the highest level, Certified Builders. Each level has a unique set of requirements and qualifications designed to identify and recognize members who continue to strive to improve their professional standards and customer satisfaction.

"We established different levels of membership as part of our continuing effort to professionalize the golf building industry," GCBAA Executive Director Paul Foley said.  "It also gives our members the opportunity to grow and meet new business initiatives on an ongoing basis."

Benson Construction Co. has been constructing and renovating golf course and athletic fields through the southern United States since 1986. The Tifton, Ga.-based company has advanced its membership in GCBAA from Associate Builder to Builder.

Also advancing its membership from Associate Builder to Builder is Lepanto Golf Construction of Pomona, Fla. The company has more than 18 years of golf course construction experience, which has enabled it to perfect all aspects of golf construction.

Advancing its membership from Builder Applicant to Associate Builder is United GLI of Indio, Calif. The company provides golf, landscape and irrigation services to developers and general contractors throughout the United States.
