The Golf Course Builders Association of America (GCBAA) upgraded three of its members' statuses. Malphrus Golf, located at Hilton Head Island, S.C., has advanced from "Associate Builder" to "Builder" and Double Eagle Golf Group in Hendersonville, N.C. and Jonesplan, Inc. in Tulsa, Okla., have both been upgraded from "Builder Applicant" to "Associate Builder."
"From those building the smallest three-par greens to those constructing the PGA-level courses, the GCBAA guides its members to achieve the highest construction standards in the golf industry," said Paul Foley, executive director of the GCBAA. "We congratulate these builder members on their upgrades."
As a division of Malphrus Construction, which was established in 1940, Malphrus Golf is a full service general contractor whose work ranges from new course construction to renovations. Malphrus Golf has experience in greens, shaping, earthmoving, drainage, irrigation and grassing.
Founded in 1997, Double Eagle Golf Group is a golf course construction and renovation company. Double Eagle's skilled workforce works closely with owners, designers and club representatives to provide an exceptional level of course quality.
Jonesplan began in 2003 and has grown to become the local Tulsa resource for golf course construction and renovation. Its primary focus is golf but it also constructs athletic fields, parks and development amenities.
In becoming a "Builder" GCBAA member, Malphrus Golf has proven its commitment to the GCBAA by being an "associate member" for one year and has completed a minimum of three 18-hole golf courses within the last five years. "Associate Builder" members are those members who are active within the golf building industry and have completed one 18-hole golf course within the last five years.
