The inspiration for Will Smith's character in "The Pursuit of Happyness," Chris Gardner will lead off the final day of the 2010 Golf Industry Show in San Diego.
Author of the autobiography "The Pursuit of Happyness" and "Start Where You Are: Life Lessons in Getting from Where You Are to Where You Want to Be," Gardner will provide his "Start Where You Are" presentation at the Feb. 11 Golf Industry Show General Session, from 8-9 a.m., before the trade show floor opens.
Gardner is the owner and CEO of the brokerage firm Gardner Rich. Always hard working and tenacious, a series of adverse circumstances in the early 1980s left Gardner homeless in San Francisco and the sole guardian of his toddler son, Chris Jr. Unwilling to give up his son or his dreams of success, Gardner climbed the financial industry ladder from the very bottom.
Gardner’s aim, through his speaking engagements and media projects, is to help others achieve their full potential. His practical guidance and inspiring story promise to make for a dynamic and encouraging message.
