FMC seeks wacky golf course stories

The contest’s winning entry wins $5,000.

FMC Professional Solutions has launched its Crash Course Golf Promotion, in which golf course professionals can submit stories and photos of the “craziest thing” ever witnessed on a golf course, with the winning entry netting $5,000. Entries are being accepted at www.fmccrashcourse.com.

From mechanical failures resulting in golf carts ending up in waterways to havoc caused by Mother Nature, the new promotion seeks to find the wackiest course-related story with submissions being accepted online through September 30.

Twelve finalists will be selected by October 30 and winners will be contacted on or around November 2. Entries are limited to one per person per golf course and should be tasteful and appropriate in manner. Entrants must be a golf course superintendent, assistant superintendent, owner or manager.

“Crash Course is a fun way for superintendents and other golf course professionals who witness these sometimes crazy situations to share their stories with the industry,” says Rick Ekins, product manager for turf and ornamentals. “Most of the time, these stories never make it beyond the clubhouse. With this promotion, the wackiest story could net one golf course $5,000.”

To enter the Crash Course promotion, visit www.fmccrashcourse.com and submit your story in 500 words or less; photos are encouraged. To learn more about Echelon or Dismiss, visit the interactive learning modules at www.FMCezLEARN.com.
