When a local non-profit organization exists in Charlotte, N.C., promoting character development and life-enhancing values through the game of golf for children, Jacobsen is there to support the program and the community.

Jacobsen’s diversity team partnered with First Tee of Charlotte and hosted 20 children ages 10 to 17 for a day full of learning and fun at their manufacturing facility on Wilmar Boulevard. The events of the day consisted of plant tours, career learning sessions with different departments, and a putting contest with prizes. The children saw first hand how products come to life using 3-D product design engineering software, the water jet in the model shop, which cuts steel with water and makes various parts, the manufacturing process and final product demonstrations. Jacobsen’s Brad Adamson, vice president, integrated supply chain, stated, “This is the perfect opportunity to partner with a local community organization to show children, whom are already interested in the game of golf, that there are many career path opportunities awaiting them across the golf industry. The company’s diversity council wanted to make sure the children had a fun learning experience and I think we definitely achieved this goal.”
