Fiddler's Elbow Country Club hires new golf instructor

Well-known golf instructor and Golf For Women “Top 50 Teacher” Kathy Hart Wood, LPGA, joins the staff at Fiddler’s Elbow Country Club as golf instructor and teaching professional.

Kathy Wood will offer instruction to club members, as well as her existing students from around the country, at the Hunterdon County-based private club. A series of women’s and junior golf clinics are also planned throughout the season.

Wood has competed on the European, Korean, Australian and South African tours.  She founded LPGA-USGA Girls Golf of South Florida, an organization designed to foster interest in golf by girls ages 7-17 through creative clinics and social competition. 

Originally from Buffalo, N.Y., and a graduate of Furman University, Wood is a member of the LPGA’s Teaching and Club Professionals and has served as the lead instructor for the Golf for Women Schools founded by Nicklaus/Flick.

Wood was formerly employed by Hamilton Farm Golf Club, Gladstone, N.J., and currently spends summer months at Cornerstone Colorado Golf Club near Telluride, Colo.

She is the mother of three daughters and married to PGA golf professional Mark Wood and is the sister of PGA Tour player Dudley Hart. The Wood family resides in Tewksbury, N.J.
