FarmLinks selects Experience manager

Blake Garrett previously served as golf course superintendent at FarmLinks.

FarmLinks recently announced the addition of Blake Garrett as the new experience manager of The Experience at FarmLinks, the nation’s premier source for “hands-on” golf course information where superintendents preview the industry’s most advanced technology, test the newest equipment and interact with some of the industry’s top professionals.

As an Experience manager, Garrett will connect directly with the more than 1,200 golf course superintendents and golf professionals who visit Pursell Farms and FarmLinks Golf Club each year.  The position should be a unique fit for Garrett, who previously served as golf course superintendent at FarmLinks and knows the course, the guests and The Experience well.

“We’re excited to have Blake back on our team,” said Erle Fairly, president of FarmLinks. “His first-hand experience with the course, expertise with our educational programs and presence here as an Experience manager will enable us to make The Experience at FarmLinks even more customized and meaningful for our guests.”

Garrett returns to FarmLinks with more than 11 years in the golf course industry.  A native of Hartselle, Ala., he attended Auburn University and received a bachelor of science degree in agronomy and soils/turfgrass management.  Most recently, Garrett was the golf course superintendent of the Oconee Course, one of five golf courses at Reynolds Plantation in Greensboro, Ga.  Garrett has also worked for Mountain Brook Club in Birmingham, Ala., as assistant superintendent and Birmingham Country Club in Birmingham, Ala., as assistant superintendent. He is a member of the United States Golf Association and The Golf Course Superintendents Association of America.

“It’s great to be back on the farm,” Garrett stated.  “This is where I have met and made most of my friends.  We’re close enough here that everyone feels like family; this is just one of the many elements that makes me feel at home at FarmLinks.  It’s also exciting to continue an opportunity with a golf course that truly offers something unique for superintendents: the chance to see and test the industry’s newest and best products and services. ”
