With 3,500 acres of serene beauty, including a 7,444-yard, championship golf course nestled in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, it seemed only natural that FarmLinks would develop more accommodations to take advantage of the unique, immersive environment. The recent groundbreaking at Pursell Farms in Sylacauga, Ala., in late August marks the beginning of this new venture, with plans for The Cottages at FarmLinks and The Cabins at FarmLinks to be ready to welcome guests in early 2009.
A short drive from Birmingham, Ala., the new Cottages and Cabins at FarmLinks will be the perfect setting for a fun-filled family retreat, a challenging golf outing, a productive planning meeting or a romantic wedding. Guests from all over can escape to the new, first-class venue that will include amenities such as three Cottages and four Cabins, each comprised of four suites, a shared great room and several outdoor patio areas with views of forests, mountains, meadows and even greens.
According to Brent Fuhrman, FarmLinks’ chief operating officer, “The purpose of the new lodging venue is to offer families, ‘stay and play’ golfers, charity organizations and businesses more options for their various meetings, retreats, getaways, vacation packages, weddings, parties, events, etc. The added lodging capacity, in addition to several other amenities soon to come, will allow our guests to soak in even more of the ‘experience’ at FarmLinks, which we have become famous in delivering.”
David Pursell, FarmLinks’ CEO, added, “We hope visitors to our new lodging facilities will have the time of their lives. With fine dining, fishing, golf and scenic views at their doorstep, the possibilities are endless!”
The new Cottages at FarmLinks feature 12 luxury suites spread among three exclusive cottages. The essence of rustic splendor and comfort amid scenic mountains and sparkling lakes, these guest quarters feature a large gathering room with a stone fireplace, and each guest suite provides unique views, two queen-sized beds and a spacious private bath.
Guests of The Cabins at FarmLinks can choose from four distinctive cottages and 16 spacious, double-occupancy suites. With a dedicated putting green and spectacular surroundings right off hole. no. 11, The Cabins also feature a cozy, common area perfectly suited for relaxing with friends, planning the next round of golf or enjoying full-service catering from the FarmLinks Grille.
FarmLinks Golf Club, which is managed by Honours Golf, will begin pre-booking 2009 guest packages for The Cottages and The Cabins beginning in October 2008.
