Falmouth completes enhancements

Cape Cod golf course completes major course and facility enhancements.

Vienna, Va. -- Falmouth Country Club and Billy Casper Golf announced a significant capital enhancement program to the golf course and club facilities located on Massachusetts' Cape Cod.

Falmouth and BCG have committed substantial resources to upgrade course conditions, renovate the pro shop and add many new amenities to the club house.

"People are raving about the golf course conditions and the cosmetics and amenity upgrades," says Peter Barbuto, Falmouth's director of golf. "Everyone at Falmouth -- our superintendent, pro shop staff, greens crew -- worked hard during the offseason and this spring to ensure the great start to the season."

Managed by BCG, the facility is a public, daily-fee golf course owned by the Town of Falmouth. The 47-year-old club consists of a 6,665-yard, 18-hole course, and a recently added, regulation-length, nine-hole layout. Falmouth's signature, 516-yard par-5, 10th hole is home to one of the area's largest Osprey nests.

Work on course conditions has focused mainly on contouring fairways and maintaining putting surfaces for optimal pace and smoother putts. Falmouth's bunkers have been spruced up with freshly cut edges.

"The course is in the best shape it's ever been," golf course superintendent Bucky Hall says. "The maintenance staff is doing a great job implementing a detailed agronomic program."

The newly remodeled pro shop now carries a full line of brand name golf apparel and equipment. New carpet, fresh paint, televisions and seating, have all been added, as well. A new 240-square foot tent accommodates events with 20 to 200 people.
