Palm Springs facility selects E-Z-GO vehicles

Indian Canyons Golf Resort purchases 155-vehicle fleet.

Indian Canyons Golf Resort, located in Palm Springs, Calif., has purchased a fleet of more than 150 E-Z-GO vehicles to serve its golfers and guests. The golf resort is owned and managed by the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians, and is located on 550 acres of Native American tribal land.

The purchase includes 155 E-Z-GO TXT 48-volt electric golf cars, to be delivered this fall. E-Z-GO’s energy-efficient vehicles and the company’s efforts to reduce energy use, greenhouse gas emissions and waste align with the Agua Caliente Band’s efforts to conserve the environment and enhance the land.

“Indian Canyons Golf Resort has two exceptional courses and are known for their commitment to and stewardship of the environment,” said Michael R. Parkhurst, vice president, golf, for E-Z-GO. “We are proud to be recognized for our sustainability efforts and appreciate the opportunity to support Indian Canyons’ environmental stewardship.”

The TXT features TruCourse Technology that allows courses to tailor their fleet’s performance to match the layout and terrain of the facility, generating greater efficiency and an improved ride. The TXT also offers modern conveniences such as an oversized bagwell, optional USB port and expanded storage.
E-Z-GO has been recognized for its green initiatives in its manufacturing operations and product design, such as light harvesting and water recycling in its manufacturing processes and facilities, foam seating constructed from 100 percent recycled materials, repairable components that minimize landfill usage and a sloped surface design that requires less water use when cleaning.

Indian Canyons Golf Resort is a 36-hole facility boasting two 18-hole championship golf courses. It is home to the famous Disney fountain, donated by Walt Disney.
