EXPO 2005 offers GCSAA credits

Outdoor Power Equipment Institute is offering certified educational opportunities for golf course superintendents during EXPO 2005.

Louisville, Ky. – Outdoor Power Equipment Institute is offering certified educational opportunities for golf course superintendents Oct. 15 during the industry tradeshow at the International Lawn, Garden & Power Equipment Expo. EXPO 2005 is set for Oct. 14 through 16 at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville.

The seminars are accredited for GCSAA education points, allowing participants to earn up to .5 credits. While pre-registration for the tradeshow is free, there will be a $50 fee to attend the seminar program. To register for EXPO and sign up for the golf course superintendent seminars go to www.expo.mow.org.

In addition, attendees can walk to the outside exhibits at EXPO to try out the equipment. The demonstration park is adjacent to Louisville’s new exhibit facility, within walking distance and open throughout the show. This allows attendees the opportunity to do hands-on comparisons for three days, in the dirt and on the turf, of products’ unique features.

“There’s a lot of overlapping equipment for lawn and golf, and it’s all here,” J. Michael Hart, golf course superintendent at Danville (Ill.) Country Club, said during the 2004 EXPO. “The outdoor demo area is a definite plus. We don’t have that opportunity to do hands-on at other shows in our industry.”

EXPO is America’s largest show for outdoor power equipment dealers and lawn and landscape professionals. Many of EXPO’s nearly 500 exhibitors produce golf course maintenance and related equipment including utility carts, trenchers, hand-held products, tree care equipment, airifiers, reel and greens mowers, pesticides, seeds, fertilizers and irrigation products.
