Ewing Irrigation, Golf & Industrial appointed Robert Womac and Kevin Scott to its golf sales team. Womac and Scott will be responsible for providing sales, service and support for golf industry professionals serving Georgia and Florida.
Womac joins Ewing with 25 years of experience in the green industry. He previously served as owner and operator of an irrigation company and director of golf and grounds at a 27-hole course. With a degree in golf turf management from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, Womac will provide agronomics support to Georgia golf professionals.
"I have worked as a superintendent in Georgia, so going to work each morning will be like hanging out with some old friends," Womac says, adding that he looks forward to establishing new relationships as well.
Womac is a member of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America, formerly serving on its communications committee, and a long-time member of the Georgia Golf Course Superintendents Association. In addition, he is a former member of the Georgia Turfgrass Association, with experience serving as director and treasurer. He is a Certified Golf Course Superintendent, and holds a Georgia pesticide applicators license.
Serving the irrigation needs of golf professionals in central and south Florida, Scott joins Ewing with six years golf sales experience, and a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies from the University of Central Florida.
"This is a new, exciting market for Ewing and Hunter Golf," Scott says. "I look forward to grabbing the attention of Florida's golf professionals with Ewing's superior customer service and Hunter Golf's cost-feasible, top-performing product line."
As water restrictions become more widespread and golf professionals seek ways to save water, Scott believes Ewing, with its line of water management products, can offer superintendents water conservation solutions that are aligned to municipalities' rules and regulations.
