The Everglades Golf Course Superintendents Association donated $10,000 to the GCSAA Foundation, the philanthropic organization of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America, with $5,000 of it dedicated to the new Col. John Morley Centennial Campaign.

GCSAA will turn 100 on Sept. 13, 2026, and has embarked on a centennial fundraising campaign to establish a new endowment honoring the association’s founder, Col. John Morley, with a goal of raising $1 million to fund new and innovative initiatives for the next 100 years.

The Everglades GCSA is supporting the campaign at the Chapter Legacy Leader Level, which recognizes donations of $5,000 or more. The GCSAA-affiliated chapter continues its membership in the Foundation’s Platinum Tee Club, which recognizes organizations that donate $5,000 or more annually to the GCSAA Foundation. It is also recognized at the President’s Club level in the Foundation’s Cumulative Giving Program for donors that have contributed between $100,000 and $249,999 since 1987.

“Our centennial campaign is an ambitious undertaking to help fund the future, and we are thankful to the Everglades GCSA for their commitment and dedication to helping shape the next century of the industry and the game,” GCSAA CEO Rhett Evans said.

Everglades GCSA was founded in 1968 and is one of 94 GCSAA-affiliated chapters in North America.

“We’re honored to support GCSAA and give back to an industry that has always supported and guided our members, especially as the association celebrates its centennial,” EGCSA president Gabe Gallo said.
