Escalante Golf purchased Country Club of the North (CCN) from Oak Tree Capital. Located in Beavercreek, Ohio, Country Club of the North is a Jack Nicklaus Signature Design golf course. CCN features a 42,000 square foot clubhouse, clay tennis courts, family swimming pool and fitness facilities. Terms were not disclosed.
Escalante Golf is a boutique owner and operator of clubs around the country. Operating partners David McDonald, Elcio Silva and Robert Silva manage the company. Escalante Golf was established in 1991 and has owned and operated numerous golf properties throughout the United States. Escalante Golf plans to continue its growth strategy by acquiring several more properties in the upcoming year.
The purchase of Country Club of the North was accomplished in conjunction with investor and partner Ron Huston. Jeff Woolson, with CB Richard Ellis Golf and Resort Properties Group in Carlsbad, Calif., was the broker on the transaction.
Situated along the banks of the Little Miami River, the golf course stretches more than 7,000 yards and has hosted many championships over the years including the LPGA and Celebrity Tours. A 289-lot master planned community surrounds the club.
“Country Club of the North is an outstanding addition to our repertoire of superior clubs,” said David McDonald, Escalante Golf’s president. “We are very selective in the properties we choose to be part of Escalante and look for opportunities with high potential and great people. As our first investment in Ohio, we are very excited to join the Country Club of the North’s community and help it to continue its history of excellence.”
Paul Malonson, who will continue as general manager of the club said, “This is great news for the members and community of Country Club of the North. Escalante’s commitment to developing first-class properties will help our club maximize its sterling reputation.”
