Environmental Turf launches new Web site

The company’s redesigned Web site provides information on the latest advances in environmentally friendly turfgrasses.

Fort Pierce, Fla. – Environmental Turf has a new Web presence. The company’s redesigned Web site, www.environmentalturf.com, provides information on the latest advances in environmentally friendly turfgrasses.

The recently re-launched site is a resource for both consumers and turfgrass industry professionals. It offers turfgrass maintenance tips, free book downloads, research information, a frequently updated library of news and articles, related links and a directory of where to buy the company’s grasses in local markets.

Environmental Turf’s new Web site also offers information on all of the company’s environmentally friendly turfgrass varieties including: SeaDwarf Seashore Paspalum, Aloha Seashore Paspalum, UltimateFlora Zoysia, PristineFlora Zoysia, DeltaShade St. Augustine and Hammock Centipede.

  • SeaDwarf Seashore Paspalum is ideally suited for use on golf courses and sports fields. Seadwarf, a dwarf paspalum, delivers the fastest green speeds and highest quality greens of any Seashore Paspalum available. The nature of the way the grass grows enables it to heal twice as fast as Bermudagrass from divots and sports-related damage. SeaDwarf takes up to 50 percent less water for irrigation than Bermudagrass and may be irrigated with nearly any quality water source. It takes up to 75 percent less nitrogen for fertilization and salt may be used as an herbicide;
  • Aloha Seashore Paspalum is a fine textured turfgrass developed by the University of Florida that can be used on golf courses, sports fields and on high-end residential lawns. Aloha delivers a deeper green color and longer roughs than SeaDwarf. Like SeaDwarf, it may be irrigated with highly salty water, requires up to 50 percent less water for irrigation and up to 75 percent less nitrogen for fertilization than Bermudagrass. University of Florida researchers have also found Aloha Seashore Paspalum to be resistant to the green bug aphid;
  • UltimateFlora Zoysia was developed by the University of Florida. UltimateFlora Zoysia is ideal for use on residential lawns and common areas. UltimateFlora Zoysia may be installed anywhere you’d use St. Augustine turfgrass. It has a medium texture, deep color, barefoot feel and has been found to be chinch bug resistant. UltimateFlora Zoysia is faster growing than many other zoysias and is fairly shade tolerant. UltimateFlora Zoysia requires less fertilizer and less water than many other lawn grasses;
  • PristineFlora Zoysia is a new fine-textured zoysia developed by the University of Florida for golf course and ornamental use. It works well on high-end residential lawns and decorative landscape areas. It is faster growing than many other common zoysias and is fairly shade-tolerant;
  • DeltaShade St. Augustine is a new and improved variety of St. Augustine turfgrass that offers true shade tolerance. It grows in heavy shade and provides a thick, lush look. It has also shown to be fairly cold tolerant in tests conducted successfully as far north as Central Tennessee; and
  • Hammock Centipede was developed by University of Florida as an extremely low maintenance grass for residential lawns. Unlike other centipede grasses, Hammock Centipede’s heat tolerance allows it to be grown in hot climates. It also has a deep green color not commonly found in other centipede grasses. Its low fertilization and slow vertical grow allow it to be mowed as infrequently as approximately six times per year.
