Dow offers incentive programs for Curfew

Cash rebates and discounts are available for soil fumigant product.

Dow AgroSciences offers several customer incentive programs in 2009 by providing users of Curfew soil fumigant with cash rebates and discounts on purchases. Customers who book a Curfew treatment for fairways, sports turf or greens by Feb. 27 will receive a discount on the application. In addition, rebates are being offered on Curfew treatments that cover both fairways and greens, as well as on treatments that combine Curfew with Dimension specialty herbicide.

For the first time, Dow AgroSciences also is offering a weekend discount program for Curfew applications done on Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays. Discounts will be taken directly off the invoice.

To receive discounts or rebates on Curfew soil fumigant, a minimum of 20 acres of fairways must be treated and at least 60,000 square feet of greens must be treated. In order to qualify for any of the above programs and discounts, all Curfew applications must be made between Jan. 1 and Oct. 31.

Dow AgroSciences works with experienced, certified applicators using the most advanced equipment and technology to ensure effective applications. Curfew offers improved rooting and provides effective control of parasitic nematodes – microscopic organisms that feed on and damage turfgrass roots. Curfew also controls mole crickets and Japanese beetle grubs present at time of application. With improved rooting, turf is more drought- and stress-tolerant. The majority of turfgrass species are tolerant to Curfew soil fumigant.

“Nematodes inflict highly visible damage to turfgrass in sandy soil environments,” says Dennis Lane, Dow AgroSciences product manager. “That means many golf courses in the South are negatively impacted by nematodes. We hope our incentive programs will allow golf course superintendents to further invest in Curfew, a proven nematode treatment that will effectively control this problem.”

Curfew is a Restricted Use Pesticide. Curfew is registered under the FIFRA section 24(c) only for sale and use in the states of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Texas. Curfew can only be applied by certified applicators.
