John Donnelly, vice president of golf media at Golf Channel, will represent Golf Channel on The Environmental Institute for Golf Advisory Council.

The Institute is the philanthropic organization of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA), which has had a long relationship with Golf Channel, providing content, expert opinions, course information and advertising. Golf Channel recently launched its Think Green Web site which features content from The Institute.

The Advisory Council, headed by World Golf Hall of Fame member Greg Norman, provides guidance to The Institute's board of trustees in the areas of outreach, fundraising and strategic planning. The members are selected to enhance The Institute's ability to cultivate relationships with current and potential donors, as well as communicate the importance of the work conducted by The Institute.

“Golf Channel has been a great platform for GCSAA and The Institute,” Norman says. “Golf course superintendents have proven to be a reliable source of information and content for Golf Channel and its Web site. The addition of John to the Advisory Council provides a boost for The Institute and our work.”

A veteran publisher for GOLF Magazine, Donnelly came to Golf Channel in 2005 as regional vice president. He moved from New York to Golf Channel's Orlando headquarters in 2006 to take on the vice president of golf media role running the golf equipment and golf industry category.

"The Environmental Institute for Golf is the leader in the industry's environmental efforts," Donnelly says. "As Golf Channel continues to increase its green efforts, we want to help with what The Institute has been doing. Our long relationship with GCSAA makes our support of The Institute reciprocal and I am honored to represent Golf Channel on the Advisory Council."
