Tom Doak will design the La Zagaleta Group golf project in Castellar. Historically known as Valderrama II, the Project could include either 18 or 36 holes and already has all the permits to begin construction when designs are ready.
This will be Doak's first design in Spain and his second in continental Europe.
Zagaleta is considering the Majarambuz brand for the entire golf development, which is being touted as both exclusive and difficult. The club will be situated in a secluded area of Castellar/Sotogrande, with limited course and clubhouse access.
The project dates to 2007 and has followed a winding development path since then.
