Arysta LifeScience North America turf and ornamental products has announced federal EPA approval of an expanded label for Disarm fungicide for control of dollar spot and large patch of zoysiagrass (zoysia patch) in golf course, lawn care, sports turf management, and sod production.
“We have seen the quick activity and long-lasting strobilurin disease control of Disarm on brown patch and other major diseases in our prior research. This dollar spot label expansion reflects the unique activity that Disarm has successfully demonstrated in extensive 2007 field trials,” indicates Dr. Doug Houseworth, T&O technical service manager for Arysta LifeScience. “In fact, Disarm is the only strobilurin fungicide labeled for control of light-to-moderate dollar spot infestations. For heavier infestations, it is an ideal tank-mix partner with systemic or contact fungicides for optimal dollar spot control and resistance management,” Houseworth adds.
“Widespread research and golf course use in 2007 has confirmed that Disarm provides unsurpassed overall strobilurin disease control equal to or better than current competitive strobilurins,” according to Steven Dal Sasso, T&O business manager for Arysta LifeScience. “And because Disarm has a more affordable cost per acre than other strobilurins and a broad spectrum that now includes dollar spot and zoysia patch, it can be applied cost-efficiently and effectively on fairways and greens anywhere throughout the entire golf course,” says Dal Sasso.
“This expanded Disarm dollar spot label represents a significantly enhanced disease management product in the Arysta T&O portfolio, and provides an excellent tool for golf course superintendents and lawn turf managers seeking the highest performance coupled with maximum value,” says Dale Chaney, Horticulture and T&O Business Head for Arysta LifeScience.
