Deere’s 220 E-Cut Hybrid walk greens mower available

New walk mower features independent cutting unit for contour following.

As seen at GIS, John Deere’s 220 E-Cut Hybrid Walk Greens Mower is now available through John Deere Golf’s distributor network.

The John Deere 220 E-Cut Hybrid’s independent floating head provides a precise cut and guarantees less turf stress from cleanup passes.

“The 220 E-Cut Hybrid is as effective as it is efficient,” said Gregg Breningmeyer, group director of sales and marketing, John Deere Golf. “With remarkable contour following and effortless steering, the 220 E-Cut Hybrid has the largest range of movement in the business.”

The industry exclusive ball joint design and electric drive motor eliminate the need for mechanical linkages to drive the cutting unit, allowing the head to float freely over the surface of the green. The 220 E-Cut Hybrid also offers a unique cutting unit that steers easily through clean up cuts to help to reduce stress around the outside of the green.

John Deere Golf’s popular Quick Adjust 5 Cutting Unit with the patented Speed Link system allows the operator to adjust the height of cut in a few seconds from either side of the cutting unit. Standard on-board backlapping at the flip of a switch makes maintaining reel and bedknife sharpness quick and easy.

Dual chain drives on both sides of the rear drum provide straight tracking and maintain accurate mow speed on flat or undulating surfaces. The electric drive motor allows for quick frequency of clip adjustment and continuous maximum mow speed, keeping productivity high, regardless of the clip frequency setting.

“We had a great response to the 220 E-Cut Hybrid at GIS and plenty of superintendents asking when it would be out,” said Breningmeyer. “We’re glad to be making it available globally.”
