DC duffers move to cheaper courses

As the 2010 fundraising push heats up, political event planners are pushing public and less expensive semiprivate facilities close to DC.

Sensitive to the perception that golf is an expensive, exclusive sport, organizers of political fundraisers are rethinking their golf events, according to an article on Politico.com.

To keep costs down and negative stereotypes at bay, onsultants are urging clients to consider tournaments at less expensive semiprivate and public courses. And, rather than weekend trips to far-away places, courses within an hour's drive of Washington DC are getting more attention.
