Highly regarded superintendents Dave Delsandro and Jeff Corcoran announced they are partnering to form Agronomic Advisors, a consulting company focused on providing a diverse comprehensive suite of solutions to the golf course industry. Delsandro and Corcoran’s backgrounds include superintendent stops at major-championship venues Oakmont Country Club and Oak Hill Country Club, respectively.

Agronomic Advisors will provide agronomic, operational management, project/construction preparation and management, capital planning, tournament preparation/hosting/restoration, team building, and other services to the industry.

“Agronomic Advisors is well-positioned to help various courses and clubs through a multitude of different aspects,” Delsandro and Corcoran said in a statement. “Our unique relationship-based, comprehensive approach is geared towards developing custom and specific solutions for our client partners in a cost-effective manner.”

Delsandro’s career in the turf industry has spanned 25 years and includes a vast array of experiences.  Most recently as the superintendent at Oakmont, he has planned and executed nearly every type of capital project. His experiences include all types of conventional golf course construction projects as well as large-scale site development, earth moving, public and private utility relocation/installation, and building construction. He has worked with several leading golf architectural firms, including Fazio Design, Coore & Crenshaw, and Hanse Golf Design.

Delsandro has successfully prepared for, hosted and restored venues for four national championships, including two U.S. Opens. He has succeeded in developing industry recognized cost control mechanisms while continually improving operational metrics, agronomics, conditioning and playability.

Corcoran has been a golf course superintendent for over 20 years. He landed his first head superintendent job at The Weston Golf Club, outside of Boston, and he has been the director of agronomy at Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester, New York, since 2003. During his tenure at Oak Hill, he has hosted two PGA Championships, including the 2023 event, and two Senior PGA Championships.

In 2019, Corcoran worked in conjunction with architect Andrew Green to renovate Oak Hill’s East Course.  During this renovation, all greens and bunkers were reconstructed, along with new tees, fairway recontouring and significant tree removal. Corcoran also has been responsible for placing 10 assistant superintendents into superintendent roles. Project management, developing agronomic programs and team building are among the aspects of the turfgrass industry Corcoran considers his forte.

The duo added that Agronomic Advisors is “the vehicle that will allow us to impart our acquired knowledge that was gained by managing golf courses at the highest level to other superintendents.” They are looking forward to the opportunity that Agronomic Advisors will afford them to build relationships with and assist fellow superintendents in achieving their agronomic and career goals.
