GPS Industries Inc., the leading innovator of Wi-Fi enabled GPS communications for golf facilities and residential communities, announced that installation of the Inforemer GPS Management System has been completed at both Elmwood Golf Course and Prairie Green Golf Course in Sioux Falls, S.D.
"We looked at all the GPS systems and we are excited to be the first in our area to offer the Inforemer system," says Tom Jansa, manager of both courses and vice president of Dakota Golf Management. "It's a great amenity to our customers as well as a tremendous new tool to help manage the courses."
Prairie Green GC, rated the No. 5 Best New Affordable Course by Golf Digest in 1996, added 65 cart-mounted GPS/Wi-Fi units, as did Elmwood Golf Course.
"While the Inforemer is a powerful management tool, the advanced features are so easy to use that even our most technology-challenged customers will enjoy it," Jansa says. "We will also take advantage of the Wi-Fi capability to connect our maintenance facilities to our existing computer network, and to also extend access to the front office software all over the course."
Golf courses can create new streams of revenue through the sale of on-screen advertising with Informer. And it is an innovation that is literally paying off for GPSI customers.
"We expect our new ad revenues will actually pay for a great part of the Inforemer system," Jansa says.
GPS Industries c.e.o. and president Robert Silzer, Sr. adds, "Golf courses around the world are discovering the advantages of our industry-leading system. Inforemer is a powerful management tool that connects all facilities and computers, streamlines operations and maximizes efficiencies. And while the full-color screens enrich the golfers' experience it also enhances the facility's bottom line. That's really what our business is all about."
