Pawley’s Plantation makes upgrades
Pawleys Plantation in Pawleys Island, S.C., is investing more than $250,000 in upgrades, including putting new “Celebration” Bermuda grass on its practice tees. In addition to change in turf variety, the practice tees also will expand from 8,000 to 10,000 square feet. Other upgrades include the installation of a new pump system, rebuilding tees along the rice dike that reaches out into the saltwater marsh, strategic removal of trees to open up areas to sunlight and for playability and sodding with zoysia grass along the edges of cart paths for both aesthetics and durability.
