Coral Creek Club, a private golf club located across the causeway from Gasparilla Island and Boca Grande, announced April 7 the official grand opening of its new clubhouse to its members and their guests.
“Today is a momentous occasion for Coral Creek Club and I am extremely excited and proud,” said Michael Zmetrovich, president, Coral Creek Club and CEO, Trophy Golf & Resorts.
Upon entering Coral Creek Club, members and guests will travel through a decorative entry gate and proceed along a landscaped boulevard lined with palm trees directly to the clubhouse. The classic architectural lines of the clubhouse reflect the essence of a turn-of-the-century, “Old Florida” golf club. The exterior, built with white clapboards and black shutters and decorative, black louvers in the roof gables, complements Coral Creek Club’s existing golf house in architecture and design.
Once inside, the new 17,000 square-foot clubhouse offers members and guests panoramic views of the golf course and the surrounding 6,000-acre nature preserve where bird and wildlife abound near the mangrove-fringed Coral Creek, a salt-water estuary flowing directly to the Gulf of Mexico. An outdoor back porch and featured atrium dining area have been incorporated into the overall clubhouse design, providing a backdrop to the approach and finish of the par 4, 471-yard 18th hole.
Atlanta-based designer, Jacquelynne P. Lanham, was selected to design the interior of the clubhouse, featuring hurricane-proof, custom-made solid mahogany exterior doors and 1,000-pound, heart-of-pine overhead beams in the men’s lounge.
The new clubhouse also features full-service men’s and ladies locker rooms, each with its own lounge and card rooms.
