Construction to start on Payne Stewart Tribute Golf Course

The course, designed by Bobby Clampett, slated to open in summer 2007.

Raven Golf Construction of Jasper, Ala. has been hired as the contractor to build the Payne Stewart Tribute Golf Course in Branson, Mo.

The $15 million signature golf course, designed by former tour player and current CBS golf analyst Bobby Clampett and architect Chuck Smith, will be the center of the Branson Hills development being built by HCW Development of Branson.

The golf course will honor the life and achievements of Springfield, Mo. native Payne Stewart. The par 72 course will measure 7,215 yards from the back tees and have a plaque on each hole relating a specific event in Stewart’s celebrated career that was tragically cut short in 1999.

Construction will start June 1. The course is slated to open during summer 2007.
