Vienna, Va. - Compass Pointe Golf Courses, in conjunction with Billy Casper Golf, are offering a free instructional seminar for beginning women golfers Tuesday, April 12 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Compass Pointe Golf Courses.
All women new to the game, women considering playing golf and current players who need a quick refresher are encouraged to join the seminar in which PGA Professionals and local women business leaders will cover the basics of the game in a friendly, easy-to-learn atmosphere, giving women the opportunity to mingle while enjoying light refreshments. Interested parties also will have the opportunity to sign up for a series of lessons that gently eases new players into the game and offers refreshers to those who need to brush up on their skills.
This seminar is part of the “Getting in on the Game” initiative, the goal of which is to break barriers of entry to the game and foster stronger female participation. The program aims to show women of all ages and backgrounds that golf is a fun game that can be enjoyed in small groups, or as a family event
Two golf start-up packages will also be available for purchase: one will include, golf clubs, balls, shoes, golf bag and tees; the second package will be comprised of everything in the first package except for the golf clubs and bag.
