The Coco Beach Golf Club in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico, renewed its fleet partnership with E-Z-GO with the purchase of several redesigned RXV golf cars.
Coco Beach Golf Club outfitted its course with 154 new E-Z-GO vehicles, including 140 electric RXV cars, eight gas-powered RXV cars, four electric Freedom RXV cars and two gas-powered RXV 2+2 golf cars. The club has a longstanding relationship with E-Z-GO, and was one of the first clubs to take advantage of the next-generation RXV with IntelliBrake technology in 2008.
“E-Z-GO golf cars are recognized worldwide for their reliability and efficiency, and the RXV raises the bar with modern, luxurious fittings that offer even greater convenience and comfort for golfers,” said Michael R. Designed by Tom Kite, the 36-hole Coco Beach Golf Club is the only course in Puerto Rico where golfers can play in the mountains, along the ocean and among palm trees and natural lakes. Set along 1,200 acres of waterfront, with white silica sand bunkers and a stunning clubhouse boasting views of the ocean and rainforest, Coco Beach is considered one of the best courses on the island. Its two, world-class 18-hole championship courses annually host the PGA Puerto Rico Open.
“The decision to continue our relationship with E-Z-GO was simple,” said Brian Shaver, general manager at Coco Beach Golf Club. “The impressive performance of the RXV golf car and E-Z-GO’s ability to put the customers first, were key factors in the decision.”
Equipped with an AC drivetrain and IntelliBrake technology, the RXV is the industry leader in efficiency. The RXV’s AC drivetrain is up to 25 percent more efficient than a traditional DC drivetrain for superior energy efficiency, increased power and longer run. The electric RXV’s patented IntelliBrake system automatically slows the vehicle when traveling up or down steep grades and engages the parking brake when the vehicle stops. IntelliBrake also delivers full-time regenerative braking, recharging the vehicle’s batteries whenever brakes are applied, to further extend the vehicle’s energy efficiency and range. The RXV is also available in a 13.5 hp gas-powered model.
