ClubPay moderates branding discussion for mid-Florida chapter

Panel discussion designed to keep members positive and to develop their personal brand in these difficult economic times.

“Developing your Personal Brand” to find or maintain employment was the theme of the education session at a recent mid-Florida HFTP meeting.

Tom Howard, president of ClubPay moderated a panel discussion for the HFTP Mid-Florida chapter that focusing on helping chapter members stay positive, create professional value and leverage social media to develop their personal brand.

“The current economic environment has created a unique situation in that there are many talented professionals looking for work that have not been in the job market in years," Howard said. "A lot has changed since they last sent a resume or interviewed and we want to help them brush up on their skills and leverage the latest networking tools to help them find or maintain employment.”

The panel of experts included: Christina Finch with Smart Professional Resources, Donna Smithberger with Caribe Royale Orlando and Kevin Drinan with Millennium Technologies.

The panel answered questions regarding how to stand out in a sea of resumes, ways to add value in their current position, leveraging your network, developing your personal brand and interviewing tips. 

“It is critical to continue investing in yourself during difficult business cycles. Now is the time to find ways to add value to your current employer and to hone your skills to be prepared if you find yourself in the position of an unexpected career change,” Howard said. “This type of event offers us a chance to support the professionals in our industry and HFTP”.
