ClubCorp teams with Pulte

Applecross Country Club will feature an 18-Hole Nicklaus Design golf course.

Dallas – ClubCorp has entered into a development and acquisition agreement with Pulte Homes of Delaware Valley to develop Applecross Country Club in East Brandywine Township, Chester County, about 35 miles west of Philadelphia.

Along with the first Nicklaus Design golf course in the Philadelphia area, the club will feature a 22,000-square-foot clubhouse and a 19,000-square-foot community sports center that will include exercise facilities, an indoor and outdoor pool, and two outdoor tennis courts. In addition, an existing barn will be converted into an indoor basketball court and a golf cart storage facility. Construction on the golf course is slated to begin in the spring of 2006.

“We are excited about our involvement with Applecross,” says John Beckert, ClubCorp’s c.e.o. and president. “Pulte Homes has been a great partner to us and the club itself, with its Nicklaus Design golf course, sports center and basketball courts, will be a great addition to our portfolio of clubs and to the East Brandywine community as well.”

“This is a unique opportunity to bring professionally managed country club living to a variety of homebuyers,” says Bill Reiser, president of the Mid-Atlantic Area for Pulte Homes. “Just over 1,000 homesites are being developed so everyone from entry-level homebuyers to active adults will be able to call Applecross ‘home.’”
