ClubCorp Acquires Seville Golf & Country Club

The management company bought the club in Gilbert, Ariz., from Shea Homes.

ClubCorp announced it purchased Seville Golf & Country Club in Gilbert, Ariz., from Shea Homes. Purchase price of the private golf and country club was not disclosed.

ClubCorp is the largest owner and operator of private clubs in the world. In the Phoenix metropolitan area, the company owns and manages Gainey Ranch Golf Club in Scottsdale and Anthem Golf & Country Club in Anthem.

“We are very pleased to be adding Seville to our portfolio of fine clubs,” says Eric Affeldt, ClubCorp’s president and c.e.o. “The acquisition is the first of many we expect to close in 2008. We are in active discussions with a number of national homebuilders interested in selling high-quality private clubs located in residential communities, which will strategically align with ClubCorp’s growth strategy.”

“ClubCorp’s experience and exceptional track record of success was a key factor in selecting them to continue the proud tradition of Seville Golf & Country Club,” says Buddy Satterfield, president of Shea Homes Limited Partnership, Seville Golf and Country Club, LLC.

Seville Golf & Country Club was developed as the golf, social and athletic centerpiece to the Seville master-planned community, developed by Shea Homes. The Seville Clubhouse includes a 30,000-square-foot clubhouse with restaurant, golf shop and expansive locker rooms and lounges. Adjacent to the Seville Clubhouse is the Seville Sports Club, which opened in May 2005. The 22,000-square-foot multi-use facility features a health club, meeting rooms, entertainment center and an outdoor 4-acre water park.

Beyond the Seville Clubhouse and Sports Club, members have access to the 18-hole championship golf course. Designed by Gary Panks, this 7,015-yard, private course boasts 190 acres of lush grass, artistic wide-open landscaping and 10 acres of water integrated skillfully into course play.
