The Club Managers Association of Europe (CMAE) is encouraging club managers to participate in a new, comprehensive job survey highlighting difference in roles, salary levels and benefits across the Continent.
The research, which is the first of its kind in Europe and is set to become an annual report, is designed to compare the club manager’s role in different countries, from established Western European countries to the emerging markets of the Middle East, South East Mediterranean and Eastern Europe.
The survey is open to all club managers and is available to complete online at the CMAE’s website: www.cmaeurope.org.
“This survey is an important step to understanding precisely what is expected of club managers across Europe and how they are remunerated,” said CMAE c.e.o. Jerry Kilby.
The survey, the results of which will be published in October 2008, will also gauge the standards of general and professional qualifications attained by club managers, providing useful feedback on the need for the CMAE’s Certified Club Manager (CCM) qualification, which is designed to become an industry benchmark in the same way its American equivalent has.
Jerry Kilby added: “This is an excellent opportunity for club managers to learn more about how their counterparts across Europe operate and the salary levels they are achieving, so I would encourage as many club managers as possible to participate by filling in the confidential survey, quickly and simply, on our website.”
