Club Car lays off 5 percent of work force

The golf car manufacturer said the layoffs were in response to weak market conditions.

Golf car manufacturer Club Car, a division of Ingersoll Rand, laid off 5 percent of its work force Tuesday, according to the Augusta (Ga.) Chronicle.

Gary Michel, Club Car's president and CEO, said the reductions came from "all levels and all functions" of the golf car manufacturing company.
