Club business centers, fitness facilities on the rise

The Club Managers Association of Amercia's biennial report reveals data about operations, finances and technology.

The Club Managers Association of America released its 2008 Club Operations and Financial Data Report. This biennial report collects club industry operations and financial data from a survey the CMAA conducts, inquiring about income and expense figures for each department and club type, initiation fees and dues, labor costs, rounds of golf and cost-per-hole maintenance expenses. This year’s survey also featured expanded questions on club technology.

CMAA conducted the 2008 study in conjunction with market research firm Market Connections. A total of 828 CMAA members participated, representing a response rate of 36 percent. The majority of responses were from country clubs, representing 65 percent of respondents. This report represents data through the end of fiscal year 2007.
