The Mutual of Omaha Drive, Chip & Putt, presented by The Golf Channel, is scheduled to host its local and regional championships in Cleveland at Two Club Golf of Macedonia on July 15.
The local championship will take place at 1 p.m., followed by the regional championship at 4 p.m. The local and regional championships are free golf skills competitions for junior golfers between the ages of 7-14.
Junior golfers will be divided into four age divisions competing in three competitions: driving, chipping and putting. The top three combined rankings in each age group at the local championship will qualify for the regional championship immediately following. Winning participants from the regional championship will advance to the Mutual of Omaha Drive, Chip & Putt National Championships in Orlando, Fla., in October.
With the help of Time Warner, Delta Apparel, Rixstine Recognition, Ping and Service by Air, The Golf Channel hopes to introduce the game of golf to more than 35,000 junior golfers this year through the Mutual of Omaha Drive, Chip and Putt program.
