At the 19th Annual Rutgers Turf Awards Banquet Nov. 1, Cleary Chemical Corp. awarded $1,000 scholarships to two second-year students in the Rutgers Professional Golf Turf Management School (RPGTMS). The Turfgrass Graduation and Awards Banquet serves as an event to recognize scholarship winners from the two-year, four-year and graduate programs in turf at Rutgers. It also serves as the graduation ceremony for the RPGTMS.
Chad Fetter of Moscow Mills, Mo., is this year’s recipient of the Dr. Paul Sartoretto Memorial Scholarship and has a 3.97 cumulative grade point average. Dr. Paul, as he was known, was a leader in the field of turf disease management. This scholarship was created to honor Dr. Paul’s memory and recognize the academic achievement of a second-year student in the RPGTMS.
James Wallace of Phoenix, Ariz., is this year’s recipient of Cleary's academic scholarship and has a 3.97 cumulative grade point average. James currently works as the assistant superintendent at Whisper Rock Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz. This scholarship is awarded to recognize a second-year student in the RPGTMS for academic excellence.
